News: Live UnLtd and Solar Learning Services join up to support social enterprise

We will be working together to encourage young people from across the North East to apply for grant funding to develop enterprising projects and that benefit their community, with Solar’s team providing support via our Youth Enterprise Hub.

News: Urban Games to be part of the Late Shows in May this year
17th January 2012READ MOREOur Urban Games & Hip Hop project team will be involved in a new partnership with The Biscuit Factory and The University of Northumbria as part of an events that will take place over the weekend of the Late Shows across Newcastle and Gateshead. The event will take place on May 19th this year at The Holy Biscuit in Shieldfield Newcastle, bringing together skaters, free runners and BMX riders in an exhibition, performance and showcase.

News: Solar Learning Services to recruit 4 young Apprentices in 2012
17th January 2012READ MORESolar Learning is about to go undergo a big change to the staff team in the next couple of months, with plans underway to recruit 3 Youth Worker Apprentices and 1 Business Administrator Apprentice. Supported by the Apprenticeship team from Newcastle College and with additional support coming from A4e the organisation will be supporting the 4 new recruits to the team through 2012.

NEWS: Reviving the Heart of the West End and Solar Learning launch the Business Sparks programme

The new Business Sparks programme aims to offer over the next 6 months opportunities to support young people to set up or develop their own businesses enterprises or social enterprises.

14th October 2011READ MOREThe Urban Games & Hip Hop project funded by Legacy Trust UK and NE GENERATION is featured in a new short film produced by Legacy Trust UK to highlight their work nationally linked to the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad. It’s a great honour for our Urban Games & Hip Hop project to be featured as one of the highlighted projects nationally and is recognition of the impact and the success of the programme since its set up in 2010.
