Solar Learning is about to go undergo a big change to the staff team in the next couple of months, with plans underway to recruit 3 Youth Worker Apprentices and 1 Business Administrator Apprentice. Supported by the Apprenticeship team from Newcastle College and with additional support coming from A4e the organisation will be supporting the 4 new recruits to the team through 2012.

In what promises to be an exciting and busy year for the organisation already with the activities around the Urban Games and the London Olympiad, this exciting development will enable Solar to train and support the Apprentices recruited to develop their skills and opportunities for employment and get to work directly with the team within the programme areas for the company- Creative & Cultural- Youth Development and Learning & Enterprise.

Monjer Rashid Programme Manager said “This is a great opportunity for the Apprentices to learn and develop within Youth Work, and they will get to learn through working in our team and get involved with some of our exciting and innovative projects.”

“We have been working as a team to increase the opportunities for progression routes and this is part of that process and we see it as an important part of our mission to improve employment opportunities and learning for young people.”

Information about the posts can be found at the Newcastle College website Apprenticeship Vacancies page, with applications now being taken up to 31st January 2011.
